Harvey's dad, William Jefferson Cook was born March 17, 1837, and he was previously married around 1860 to Susan A. Elliot and had 11 children; John B. Cook(1862), James C. Cook (1864), Eliza J. Cook(1866), Nancy J.(Bell Cook(1868), Lizzie Cook (1870), America Cook (1872), Mary A. Cook(1873), Louisa A. Cook(1877), Sarah F. Cook(1879), William E. Cook(1881), and Joseph E. Cook(1883),

Susan Elliott Cook died and Jeff married Jan 19, 1893 to Sarah Louise (Sallie) Melton Welch(1864), who was previously married to George W. Welch and had children; Lee Welch(1884), Mary Welch(1887), Clara L. Welch(1889), and Charley Welch(1890).

Together Jeff and Sallie had 5 children; Frank Cook1894), Pearl Cook(1896), Thomas Cook(1898), Harvey Cook(1900), and Byron Cook(1902)

Harvey's dad, William Jefferson Cook died Nov 30, 1902, at age 64.

Wanda Faye said that Harvey's mother Sallie apparently died (1908 at age 44)) shortly after Byron was born, so Harvey and Byron were passed from one brother or sister to another. Wanda Faye thought that Harvey's half-sister Clara Welch must have done most of the raising of the two boys.

According to Mary Hughes Spann (related July 2001) A Welch family that was related to Harvie lived up near the Damron or Antelope Community.
