Death
Vealer Gryder Furr, 74, of Route 11, Peach Orchard Road, died at 2:10 a.m. Feb. 16, 1968, at Rowan Memorial Hospital following five years of declining health and a serious illness of three weeks. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at City Memorial Park. The family will be at Summersett Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 8:30. Born April 13, 1913, in Iredell County, she was a daughter of the late Elmore and Lovie Sherrill Gryder. A Baptist, she was a retired spinner at Cone Mills. Her husband, Charles Robert Furr, died March 19, 1962. Survivors include three brothers, Rome Gryder of Huntersville, Robert and James Gryder, both of Salisbury; two sisters, Thelma Gryder of Concord and Doshie Gryder of Kannapolis.Endnotes
