Notes
Death
It is with much regret we record the death at her residence, Rockstone, Ryde, of Mrs. Aretas COLLINS, widow of the late Captain Aretas J.V. COLLINS, R.N. The deceased lady, (who was the second daughter of the late Rev. Gilbert HEATHCOTE, Vicar of Colerne, Wilts, and of Northfield, Ryde) was evidently deeply affected by the loss of her much-respected husband rather more than a year ago, and many of her friends noted with pain the decline in health which seemed to follow that sad event. She pursued her usual avocations, however, and was seen out only a few days before her death, which occurred quite suddenly on Friday last. The sad news was received in the parish of Holy Trinity, where the deceased lady’s charitable and kindly disposition had made her much beloved, with extreme regret. The general sympathy found expression at the funeral, which took place on Tuesday last. The first portion of the service was held at Holy Trinity, where there was a large attendance. The officiating clergy were: the Rev. D.E. YOUNG (sub-warden. Truro); the Rev. W. M. CAMERON, Vicar of the Holy Trinity; the Rev. G. DAVEY, assistant curate, Holy Trinity.
The mourners were as follows : Mr. F.A. HEATHCOTE, (brother); Miss HEATHCOTE (sister); Miss FOX YOUNG, Lady FOX YOUNG, Mr. ATHERLEY, Miss Isabel YOUNG, Captain F.W. THOMAS, Captain PAYNE, R.N., Mr. RICKFORD, Lieut.-Colonel YOUNG, R.E., Mrs. WHEATLEY, Colonel WHEATLEY R.A., Dr. BANKS, the servants.
