John Daniel Snodgrass

(1818 - )

According to Dorothy Swearingim, "The Snodgrass' settled in the Mill Creek Community east of Lesterville in the early 1850's. He was a farmer, hunter, and trapper. He was one fourth Cherokee Indian and used the knowledge of healing with herbs handed down through the generations of his Cherokee ancestors. People would come to him from far and near to get his healing ointments."

There seems to be some disagreement on John Daniel Snodgrass's parents. Some have them down as John S. Snodgrass and Sarah Caswell. However, this makes no sense at all since John S. Snodgrass is listed as being born in the same year as John Daniel.
