Individual Details

William Pinkley

(Calc 1837 - Est 1867)

The family group chart says he died in the Civil War, but that can't be right if he got married in 1864 and had three children (unless some of them were born out of wedlock). A note in Pauline's papers says "William died a few months before Lou was born." Lou was apparently Rhoda Lou Ann Pinkley, their youngest daughter. In fact, I finally found something in Pauline's notes that shows Rhoda Lou Ann was born in 1867.

A note in Pauline's papers says that "William was killed near Fredericktown, Mo - His father George Pinkley was hung during Civil War near Hogan, Mo". This conflicts with the family group chart, which shows his father to be William P. Pinkley. There obviously was some confusion since the family group chart shows the parents of William P. Pinkley to be George and Rachael. According to Pauline's notes, however, the father of William P. Pinkley was Michael Pinkley, but William P. Pinkley did have a brother named George and sister named Rachel (this apparently taken from the will of Micheal Pinkley of Barren County, Kentucky). So, there was difinitely some confusion, but hopefully it all got straightened out.
