Ephron PUTNAM

Ephron Putnam was born about 1754 in Sutton. He was baptized on 7 Jul 1756 in Sutton, Worcester, MA (2486, 2487). He served in the military on 12 Feb 1776 in Quebec (2488). A Muster Roll of Capt Elijah Babcock's Company in Major Brown's Detachment now in the United Colonies service, dated at Camp near Quebec. He was listed as Ephron Putnam, on command, inlisted 26 Nov 1775. He appeared on the 1790 censu in Pittstown, Rensselaer Co, NY. 1-1-2. He died between 1818 and 1823 in Cornwall twp., Stormont CO, Ontario (413). Ephraim was a loyalist during the American Rev and served with the King's Royal Regiment of New York. He received a land grant in Cornwall, Onterio, after the war. Perhaps he encouraged his nephews to come to Canada in the early 1800's
