Michael Bacon was born in England.
Michael Bacon was born about 1608/09 in England. He was the son of Michael Bacon and Alice (---) Bacon.[1][2]
Michael Bacon is said to have emigrated from Ireland, and was one of the original inhabitants of the town of Woburn, Massachusetts.[3] Michael settled first in Charlestown but soon removed to Woburn and later went to Billerica.[4]
Michael Bacon married three times; all named Mary.[5] Michael's first wife was named Mary (Unknown), and they married about 1635/6 in England. All of his four (or five) children were with his first wife:[2]
Michael Bacon Jr; b. bef.1640, m. daughter of Thomas and Mary Richardson in 1660;[3]
Elizabeth (Bacon) Richardson;
Sarah (Bacon) Simonds;
Lydia (Bacon) Wood (Both Thomas W. Baldwin[1] and NEHGR vol. 57[4] omit daughter Lydia.)
Richardson links another daughter, Mary, with Michael and his first wife, as one of their five children,[6] Baldwin also adds her as one of their four children (omitting Lydia) but says that she married Batholomew Gale as his 2nd wife:
Mary (Bacon) Lakin
Michael's first wife died August 26, 1655. Michael married second, Mary (Unknown) Richardson, widow of Thomas Richardson on October 26 of that same year in Woburn, Massachusetts.[7] She died May 19, 1670.[2][3]
He married for his third wife, the widow Mary Noyes, on Nov 28, 1670[3] in Woburn, Massachusetts.[7] Her maiden name was Haynes[5] and she was the widow of Thomas Noyes of Sudbury.[2]
Michael died July 4, 1688[3] in Woburn, Massachusetts.[8]
Note: Some sources have Michael immigrating from England to Massachusetts in 1633;[9] this was actually his father, who came to America, was a signer of the "Dedham Agreement" and then returned to England. In 1640, Michael Bacon Sr. came back to America with his three sons and their families.[1]
Note

Michael Bacon is Bacon 2 in the Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage Quarterly Journal of the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society. According to their published genealogy of the Bacon family. Michael Bacon married Mary Marie Jobo on 03 August 1635/6?; in Woburn, Essex, MA. They had 4 children:[10]

Michael Bacon (Nos. 2950 and 3014) on the Parker1 sheet, ascends from Lyman De Platt to Clarissa Josephine Leavitt, Mary Ellen Huntsman, Solinda Eastman Parker, both her parents Zadock and Mirriam Parker (1st cousins), through their fathers Isaac and Solomon Parker (brothers), to Solomon Parker, Samuel Parker, Abigail Lakin, and Mary Bacon (1475 and 1507), who married John Lakin, and who was the daughter of the couple that follow.

MICHAEL BACON
Parker Pedigree #s 2950, 3014; FamilyTree # 94F5-3SX
Michael, the eldest son of Michael Bacon and Alice was born about 1608, possibly at Winston, Suffolk, England. Tradition says he held the office of captain of a company of yeomanry in County Suffolk. He married in Winston on August 31, 1624, Marie Jeve (read at Jobo; pedigree numbers 2951, 3015; FamilyTree # MD46-VX4).
According to Brown’s History of Bedford, Massachusetts, he went from England to the North of Ireland about 1633, seven years prior to coming to New England. The following is taken from the Dedham Records [Dedham Record, Towne and Selectmen, Volume III, page 68], dated May 26, 1640 [Thomas W. Baldwin, Bacon Genealogy (Cambridge, Mass.: Murray and Emery Co., 1915), page 24): “Agreed upon that the towne of Dedham shall enterteyne, etc... [as well as] Mr. Smith and Mr. Bacon all from Ireland and afford to them such accomodations of vpland and medowe as their estates shall Requier."
He arrived in Dedham, Massachusetts in 1640 with his father; however, he was of Charlestown by December 18, 1640, where he subscribed to "Town Orders" for the then projected town of Woburn, of which he shortly became one of its original inhabitants.
Michael Bacon, of Woburn, was chosen, April 13, 1644, surveyor of highways for the town of Woburn.
He bought of Robert Shaw in 1648, a farm in the northwesterly part of Cambridge (now Bedford), including “all the meadow adjacent to the great swamp, near the East corner of Concord bounds, that fals in Cambridge boundes.” Another source says that this transaction occurred in 1653 when “he and William Simms, bought two hundred acres of land.”
The Shawsheen River runs from this “great swamp,” and on which Mr. Bacon is said to have erected a saw and grist mill before 1675. This mill was burned by the Indians at the time of King Philip’s War. In August 1675, the town of Billerica, when providing defense against the Indians in the King Philip’s War, assigned Michael Bacon to garrison “No. 10,” under command of Timothy Brooks.
Michael served as selectman from Woburn in 1659-1666, 1668, and 1670. He deposed at Woburn, June 17, 1668, age about sixty. In a mortgage recorded on June 8, 1675, he is alluded to as a citizen of Billerica. He was taxed at Billerica in 1679, “only one head tax,” and he died, probably at Billerica on July 4, 1688.
He married 1st, Mary Jeve [see following note] sometimes Jobo (Nos. 2935, 3015), daughter of Richard Jeeve and Mary (being born June 27, 1607, Winston, Suffolk, England; christened there July 27, 1607; and who died August 26, 1655, at Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts. He married 2nd, October 26, 1655, Mary Richardson, widow of Thomas Richardson of Woburn. She died May 19, 1670. Michael married 3rd, November 28, 1670, Mary (Haines) Noyes, daughter of Walter Haines and Elizabeth and widow of Thomas Noyes of Sudbury.
Children of Michael Bacon and Mary Jeve, the first three born at Winston, Suffolk, England, the last two at Woburn, Middlesex, Massachusetts:
Lydia, born about 1637; died November 25, 1674, Charlestown, Suffolk, Massachusetts; md. October 28, 1657, Charlestown, Josiah Wood.
Michael, born February 16, 1639/1640; died August 13, 1701, Billerica, Middlesex; he married Sarah Richardson, March 22, 1660, at Woburn.
Mary, born February 18, 1640; died after October 22, 1701, Groton; married before 1658, John Lakin; they being of Groton at the time.
Elizabeth, born January 4, 1642; died 1673, Woburn; married October 22, 1658, Woburn, Lt. John Richardson.
Sarah, born August 24, 1644; died April 11, 1727, Woburn; married September 25, 1677, Woburn, Caleb Simonds.
Note: There seems to be a discrepancy in this instance in the records. One reference has Mary Jobo marrying as his first wife on August 31, 1624, Michael Bacon son of Michael Bacon and Alice. According to this record Mary or Marie Jobo died August 26, 1655 at Woburn and Michael married 2nd on October 26, 1655, widow Mary Richardson. This records says that Michael and Mary had five children, the first three probably born at Winston, Suffolk, England; and the last two at Woburn: 1) Lydia, Michael, Mary, Elizabeth, and Sarah. This records says Michael was born about 1608 at Winston, Suffolk, England. In a deposition before the court of Middlesex Co., Mass. In 1688, he certified that he was about sixty years of age. He married in Winston as noted above in this footnote: August 31, 1624, Mary Jobo.
