Death
Donald T Carlson, 90, of 953 W. Mark St. died at his residence on Wednesday, July 17, 1996.He was born Oct. 4, 1905, in Houston County, Minn., to Carl and Louise (Ask) Carlson.
On Nov. 22, 1928, he married Velma H. Jenkinson in Pleasant Hill Township, Minn. She died June 25, 1975. He married Arlene Moe on Jan. 8, 1978. She died Dec. 14, 1990.
Don farmed in Houston County for 40 years, was a Funk G. Hybrid dealer and also sold Electrolux vacuum cleaners for 36 years. He had been a part-time rural mail carrier from 1955-68 in the Houston County area.
Mr. Carlson moved to Winona in 1968 where he became a member of McKinley United Methodist Church, Money Creek Masonic Lodge, Winona Chapter No. 141 O.E.S. and the Circle K Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by two daughters, Jeannine (Robert) Chase of Spring Valley, Minn., and Sharon (Leslie) Orr of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a brother, Lester W. Carlson of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, and two daughters.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Fawcett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Shirley Duncanson of McKinley United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Bush Cemetery in Pleasant Hill Township.
Honorary pallbearers will be Maude Ratajczyk, Fern Ledebuhr, Jane Peplinski, Angie Langowski, Eleanor Schwan, Dorothy Walski and Sarah Fenske.
Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday after 12:30 p.m. at Fawcett Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to McKinley United Methodist Church.
