HOUSTON, Minn. — David Roland "Little Oscar" Ask, 55, of rural Houston died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, in Mound Prairie township of Houston County as a result of the flood there.
David was born Dec. 1, 1951, in Caledonia, Minn., to Roy and Persis (Nelson) Ask. He lived in Houston all of his life. David was a 1969 graduate of Houston High School, where he was on the wrestling team and was active in FFA. He graduated from Winona Tech in the electronics program. David enjoyed gardening, tinkering with radios and was a ham radio enthusiast. He attended the Houston Baptist Church. For most of his life, David worked as an electronics repairman and worked most recently at River Valley Sprouts in Mound Prairie.
He is survived by his father, Roy Ask of Houston; three brothers, Paul (Janet) Ask of Port Heron, Mich., Terry (Sandy) Ask of Houston, and Jonathon Ask of Money Creek, Minn.; four sisters, Ahna (Ray) Wheeler of Blaine, Minn., Arlouene (Bob) Pickett of Preston, Minn., Faith Ask of Houston, and Miriam (Nate) Bawden of Rosemount, Minn.; one brother-in-law, Steve Krage; and many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his mother and two sisters, Carrie Krage and Janice Ask.
At the time of his death, his dog, Victrola, also perished in the flood.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at Houston Baptist Church in Houston, with the Rev. Donald Range officiating. Burial will be in Swede Bottom Cemetery in rural Houston at a later date.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hoff Funeral Homes-Houston Chapel, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
