Death
Persis Ask, 85, of Houston, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Houston.She was born on May 10, 1921, in Caledonia, to Paul and Bertina (Louve) Nelson. She was raised on the family farm in Money Creek, attended Money Creek School and graduated from Houston High School in 1939. She married Roy Ask on June 19, 1940, in Money Creek. Persis and Roy farmed for many years. She was a lifelong member of the Houston Baptist Church, the Houston Garden Club, and Farm Bureau. She was the Coordinator for the Red Cross Blood mobile, was a 4H Leader, and was the first runner up of the Honorary Women?s Senior Citizen of Minnesota in 2005.
Persis is survived by her husband Roy; eight children: Ahna (Ray) Wheeler of Winter Haven, FL; Paul (Janet) Ask of Port Huron, MI; Arlouene (Robert) Pickett of Preston; David Ask; and Theron (Sandra) Ask of Houston; Faith Ask of Deerfield Beach, FL; Jonathan Ask of Houston, and Miriam (Nate) Bowden of Rosemount; one son-in-law, Steve Krage of Houston; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marge Floberg of Auburndale, FL.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Janice Ask and Carrie Krage; two sisters, Eleanore Egland and Phyllis Nelson, and one great-granddaughter, Megan Waldo.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, at the Houston Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Range officiating. Burial will be at the Swede Bottom Cemetery in Houston, Minn. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Hoff Funeral Homes ? Houston Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
