Death
He was a patient of the Sheppard & Enoch Pratt Hospital on the 1900 census in Baltimore. This hospital was a mental hospital called Sheppard Asylum located on the former Mount Airy farm in Baltimore.He died in 1901. I'm not sure if he died at the Sheppard Hospital but her died of "nervous prostration".

Mr James N Muller Obituary
Mr James N Muller died last evening of nervous prostration. Mr Muller was born in Baltimore 60 years ago and had lived here his whole life. For 24 years he had been a partner in the firm of Sanders & Stayman. At the death of the surviving partner, Mr. D H Sanders, he assumed the entire business until compelled to relinquish, about two years ago, by reason of ill health. Mr Muller was a Knight Templar and member of Beauseant Commandry, and also of the Royal Arcanum. He was a member of Harvard Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church.
A widow, one daughter, Mrs. Day Allen Willey, and one son, Charles W Muller, survive.
