In the name of God Amen being Bout to bid ad eau to this world I commit my soul to God my Maker and make this my last will that my land and personal property be sold at such credit and in such manner as is thought most advisable by my Exect for the interrest of my little children and the proceeds to be put t interest for their support and education if the interest should prove sufficient otherwise the principal is to be used but the land is not to be sold until it will bring eight dollars per acre and as they arrive at age or marry that distribution be made of what shall remain in equal proportion not depriving the younger children of means of education. I mean that my Exect shall use some discression in distributiond so as to retain sufficient to educate the younger children. Sept 4th, 1835

says the father of William J Payne who married Lavina Stone was Thomas Payne b. 1780 in Guilford, NC and d. about 1835 in Franklin County, IN. He married Margaret ? who was born about 1780.
The father of this Thomas Payne was John Payne b, 1743 in Dossett, Dorchester, MD and d. 5 sept 1784 in Rowan Co, NC.
John's children were Thomas and Charlotte who were 1/2 brother and sister.
Charlotte was b. 4 Aug 1778 in Guilford Co, NC and d. 28 June 1858 in Hamilton Co, IN. She married John Baldwin (1781-1857) on 18 Sept 1803 in New Gaeden MM, Guilford Co, NC. In 1850 they were in Clay Twp Wayne Co IN
I don't have proof but this is a line to persue.
