Mariner on board the 1st Man-of-War used by the Colonies called the "Country Galley"

He bought a tract of 800 acres in Bowdoinham, Maine, 1774 with his cousin Paul Hatch, (#39) and moved there in 1775. He bought Paul Hatch's right in 1798. His son Zenas Hatch inherited the homestead.

The town of Nantucket, Nantuclet Co, MA was originally called Nantuckett but the name was changed by Province of NY to which it belonged June 27 1687 and was called Sherborn. 1692 granted to Massachusetts Bay
June 8 1795 the name was changed from Sherburn to Nantucket.

Bowdoinham. This town lies upon the western shore of the Kennebec River and with the town Topsham, was claimed by Wharton, as belonging to his purchase.
In 1656, Alexander Thwart moved from Bath to this town. There was a small settlement at this time in the town, which was depopulated in King Philip's War. The town was resettled about the time that Fort Richmond was built. In 1774, Paul and Jethro Hatch [cousins -mm purchased eight hundred acres of land in this town. The town was named in honor of William Bowdoin, by whom it was owned, at one time.

Jethro was born the 28th of July, 1721, at Falmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts Bay, the son of Ebenezer Hatch and Lydia Hatch.[1]
