OBITUARY – GEORGE W. PUTNAM

George W. Putnam, 78, died at his home, R. 1, Arlington, Sunday November 24th. He was born at Silver Creek, Minn., April 1st, 1862. He came to Everett in 1910 and to Edgecomb in 1911, purchasing the former Robert Kinnear homestead where his family had since resided. Death was due to a stroke suffered Sunday morning. At the time Mr. Putnam was milking, thus rounding out his life in a manner typical of the man-working.

George Washington Putnam was the son of Peter and Patience Putnam, residents of New York. He was married December 21, 1892, to Lilla Putnam, daughter of John E. and Nancy Putnam of Worcester, Mass.

Deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lilla Putnam, R. 1, Arlington; two sons, Hugh Elmer and Glenn Irving Putnam, R. 1, Arlington; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel May Wilson, Marysville; Estella Ellen Holmes, R. 1, Marysville; Marjorie Louise Martin, R. 1, Arlington, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; also two sisters, Viola Putnam, Big Lake, Minn., and Mrs. Jane Gordon of Oklahoma.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the chapel of Moll’s Funeral Home, Rev. C. D. Gaffney officiating. Burial was in the Arlington cemetery.
