Oldest son of Richard1: Hezekiah2 b. ca. 1680–1685, m. ca. 1705,
appeared in Surry Co., VA records early as 1710, married first to the
mother of his oldest children (John, Richard, Sarah, and Lucy), and
second to Elizabeth, his widow and mother of his younger children
(William, Hezekiah, and James). His first wife appears to have died
about 1713–1715, probably in Surry; Elizabeth died in Northampton Co.,
NC [formed from Bertie in 1741] between 1745 and 1747. Hezekiah died
in Bertie Co., NC between April 1727 when he dictated his will
(signing it with and "E" as his mark) and August of that year when it
was probated.
