Robert Sweeting purchased 400 acres in what is now Halifax Co., VA on 4-14-1748.Robert Sweeting and his son, Edward purchased 600 acres on 11-14-1748 in Pittsylvania Co., VA. This survey is where they both made their homes. The creek that runs through this property was called Sweetings Fork but is now named Sweden Fork.
Robert Sweeting purchased 370 acres in Pittsylvania Co., VA on 11-14-1748.
Robert Sweeting purchased 400 acres in Pittsylvania Co., VA on 5-4-1751. This property adjoins the 370 acres purchased on 11-14-1748. The other properties do not join but are near each other except for the 400 acres in Halifax Co., VA.
The Lanes also bought several tracts of land in this area during this time.

By 1765 Robert and Sarah were living in Rowan Co., NC and by 1767 they had moved to their final home in Wilkes Co., NC. After 1767 their sons, Edward and Dutton, also moved to Wilkes Co., NC.Event-Misc
Robert gave power of attorney to Dutton Lane to liquidate his remaining property in MD. As a result, Robert sold 150 acres on Upper Spring Neck to William Wilkinson on 3-25-1777.Endnotes
