Notes
Birth
Her birthplace is usually given as Alabama. In some census reports it is shown to be Mississippi, and the Stephen Williamson family was most likely in Tennessee at the time of her birth.
Marriage
Most sources give the marriage date for Syrena Williamson and Wilson Patterson as 11-28-1866.The Coryell County, Texas, Marriage Records, Book B, page 89 shows the marriage license of W. T. and Syrena Williamson issued on 11-28 with no year noted. There is no record of an actual marriage date recorded.
The Patterson record is preceded by a record for 8-23-1865 and is followed by a record for 12-21-1866. All of these records were filed in March 1867.
This marriage book seems to have errors in the sequence of marriage license record dates. Page 88 is blank and page 87 contains marriage license records for 1867.
The use of a marriage year of 1866 for Syrena Williamson and Wilson Patterson is a reasonable conclusion considering the sequence of Coryell County records in Marriage Book B.

On 8-15-1889, Wilson Patterson sold two tracts of land to his wife Syrena Patterson for $5.00. These tracts contained 210 and 17 acres respectively. This transaction is recorded in the Coryell County, Texas, Deed Records in Book 6, pages 57-58.
Will
Syrena Patterson made her last will and testament in Washita County, Oklahoma, on 1-8-1898. A copy was filed for record in the Coryell County, Texas, Probate Records, 1867-1915, page 113-114 on 1-15-1898.Her sole heir was her son William Patterson, who was given two tracts of land in Coryell County, Texas, which Wilson Patterson sold to his wife Syrena on 8-15-1889.
The tracts contained 210 and 17 acres respectively.
This will serves as further evidence that Thomas Patterson, who was still living at the time, was not her biological son.
Census
The 1900 Washita County, Elk Township, Oklahoma U.S. Federal Census shows the Wilson Patterson household as:Wilson, b. Jan. 1832; married 32 years; b. SC
Sarena, wife, b. June 1826; married 32 years; 2 children, both living, b. Alabama
William, son, b. Feb. 1874 in Texas
This information indicates that Syrena was not the biological mother of Wilson Patterson's son, Thomas Patterson, who was born 7-7-1865.
The marriage year for Wilson and Syrena is 1868 by this information, although marriage records indicate it probably was 1866 or perhaps 1867.
