Walter Carlton Bailey was principal and full-time teacher at Vidor, Texas, High School. He taught social science, agriculture, algebra, geometry, and economics; and he was assistant coach.In 1936, he became the Agriculture teacher at Orangefield, Texas, High School. He developed an FFA Chapter, farm program, girls' basketball team, registered swine program, organized a string band; and later he became the boys basketball coach and school principal.
In 1942, he moved to Jefferson, Texas, to become a vocational agriculture teacher. His land judging and woodland management students were consistent winners in state wide events.
