Asaph Hill was born as early as 1767 since he received a land grant in 1788 (required to be 21 years of age) located near that of Dorcas Hill on Beaver Creek.

Asaph Hill received a land grant; Book 24 Q, page 113, Camden Dist., S. C. August 20, 1788.
"Unto Asaph Hill 114 acres 20 Aug. 1788, District of Camden on Beaver Creek." Andrew McDowell D. S.
The grant adjoined the land of George Powell, George Miller, Elijah Beams, Darkus Hill, John Carr and David Hopkins."

Asaph Hill also bought land from Dorcas Hill in 1793.
