In her application for a Confederate Widow's pension on 12-4-1920 she gives her birthdate as 11-28-1841 and place of birth as Lowndes Co., AL. On her application of 4-14-1915 she indicates she was born in Hickory Grove, Lowndes Co., AL on 11-28-1841.

Marriage

The marriage is listed in Alabama Marriages,1800-1920 and gives this information:
J.B. Duncan and Mary A. E. Edwards, married in Crenshaw Co. on 8-8-1867, ceremony performed by M.G., surety/ perf. name William Finley.

Miscellaneous

There are at least three applications for a Confederate Widow's Pension. The 4-14-1915 application states she is the widow of J.B. Duncan, her birth date, place of birth, and that she is receiving AL pension #29833.
The 12-4-1920 application states she is living by herself in Honoraville, AL, has AL pension #16284, place and date of birth, her father was David Edwards who died about 1870 in Butler Co., AL, and that she has a life interest in 120 acres and a 5 room frame house in Crenshaw co., AL.
A third application was made on 12-10-1921 in which she has AL pension #29422.
