He purchased his 2 sisters interest in their mother's part of the R.G. Hampton ranch near Slater, TX. This property and additional acreage remained in his family until about 1997 when the majority was sold following the death of his son, Jack.Miscellaneous
Vol. 129, page 629-630 Coryell County Deed Records:On 6-1-1938, Mrs. T.A. Saunders, a widow, Minnie Saunders, a widow, Hazel and L.E. Kincannon of Stephens Co., OK, for $10, assumed the balance of a $3000 loan due to the Federal Land Bank of Houston made by Jim R. Saunders to purchase two tracts of the P. Lopez Survey, a 172 acre tract and a 131 acre tract. This land was originally purchased by T.A. Saunders on 8-25-1928.
