Thomas Plummer II
(17 Apr 1667 - 26 Jun 1726)
Thomas Plummer 2nd married about 1689, likely in South River Hundred, Calvert County, now Prince George's County, Maryland to ELIZABETH YATE, a daughter of George Yate 1st and Mary Wells of South River Hundred. They were seated on SEAMANS DELIGHT which he inheritated through his father's will. Originally located in Calvert County, it fell into Prince George's County upon its creation in 1695. A patent for this tract was issued to Thomas on 16 August 1716. (Liber EE-6, folion 331)
A patent was issued 10 September 1716 to Thomas for 50 acres of DUNDEE located on the west side of Patuxent River and east side of Collington Run in Prince George's county. (Libeer EE-7, folion 55) This eventually because the sole property of Abiezer Plummer (1-(10)), who willed it to his son Joseph Plummer (1-(10)-3), who in turn willed it to his son Mordecia Plummer (1(10)3-1). On 27 December 1819, for $4,602.00, Modecai sold his then dwelling plantation to Walter Smith renamed the plantation SMITH'S PURCHASE. (LiberABB-1, folio 292). This and the previous paragraphs from pages 2 & 3 book by Winkelman & Honeyman.
"The previously mentioned depositions by affirmation make it clear that Thomas 2nd and Elizabeth were members of the SOCIETY of FRIENDS. (page 4, Winkelman & Honeyman.)
"Thomas settled early in Queen Ann Calvert County, Maryland. He had ten sons and 2 daughters....Thomas married Elizabeth Yate." This village is now known as HARDESTY, and is located in Prince George's County. If you refer to an atlas of Maryland, you see that the Plummers settled near the junction of Anne Arundel, Calvert, and Prince George's Counties. (Ref to notes of Theda M. Hubman in 1993)
