Martin L. Hardin said to have fought in the Mexican War where he distinguished himself in the battle of San Jacinto. After the war he procured a title to the land where the battle was fought and spent there the remainder of his life.
There is a service index card on Fold3 for Martin L. Hardin 2nd Sgt, Company B., Angney's Battalion, Missouri Infanty, Mexican War.
The article states that the family Bible is in possession of his great granddaughter - Miss Elizabeth Crutcher of Franklin Co, KY. The children and dates are as recorded here.
