[I know Hugh Buck married Elsie Wood - I am assuming I have the correct Elsie Wood since there doesn't seem to be another of the right age.]
License was taken out on 3 Oct 1931 - Hugh Buck Hays was age 28, Miss Elsie Mildred Wood was 25, both of Van Buren. A. D. Maxey signed as Security for Hugh Buck. They were married by Sam'l. A. Cox, Minister.
They had no children.

My grandmother had saved a Funeral program which included the printed sermon and the 23rd Psalm. Hugh Buck was survived by his wife Elsie, brother Jim Hays of Van Buren and four sisters, Mrs. Fay White, Mrs. Tressie Webster, and Mrs. Atha Pigg of Van Burn and Mrs. Georgia Prue of Kansas City, Kansas. Hugh Buck had attained the rank of 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He had retired in 1942 from the Missouri Pacific Railraod as a conductor.
The funeral was held 1 Aug 1972 at the St.Edwards Chapel. The message was delivered by Rev. Jack Cutbirth, Pastor of Wood Memorial Christian Church in Van Buren. Pallbearers were Dr. J. B. Hays, Wally Hays, Darrell Hays, Alvy Hays, Tommy Hays, Elliott Hays, Atha Pigg, Jr. and Wallace Hays. [I suspect most if not all were his nephews]
