Thomas was "sold" to a family in Van Buren at age of ten. He ran off to Texas for some years - was called "Texas Tom".

Living next door to Tom's brother Burt. The grandsons were sons of Charles Lester by his first wife.
Tom may have died in Oklahoma, but he may also have been brought back to Crawford Co for burial. History in Headstones has "Tom Morton, father of Bert Morton, no marker or dates"; Seabolt Cemetery
