John MURPHEY

(1769 - 1774 - Aug 1839)

Y-DNA studies have proved this John must surely belong to Roger Murphy & Nancy Powell. Records in South Carolina have long suggested that Roger did have a son John.
Testing of Y-DNA 111 markers @ FTDNA from original Y-DNA test of paternal male Murphy and several distinct markers are showing alignment with known markers from Clan Colla of Ancient Northern Ireland. According to some of the projections by FamilyTreeDNA, it seems likely the family came from Galway, Connaught, Ireland.
