Hayes, Thomas Joel, b. Oct 1864, d. 26 May 1934, by his own hand after murdering his housekeeper, Cynthia Harris, her daughter Rose, and neighbor William Mack Roberts.
He married Clara Young in Ramsey and they were separated 12 years before Mrs. Harris became his housekeeper. They were parents of Dr. H. Hayes, Alton; Jennie William, Pierce City, MO; Mrs. William Ketchem and Hugh Hayes of Ramsey. A brother, Sam Hayes, of Ramsey also survives
