Individual Details

Nancy Caroline Casey was the daughter of Wilson Casey and Barbara Riley Casey. She married first to Zebunal Prater, son of Eliphaz Prater and Kesiah Skelley Prater, on 17 March 1855 in Christian Co., IL. Caroline and Zebunal moved to Missouri where two children were born: Eliza Jane Prater in 1856 and William D (Sonny) Prater in 1859. Zebunal died in Iron Co. MO on August 2, 1859.

Caroline returned to Fayette County IL with her parents Wilson and Barbara who had also moved to Iron Co MO sometime prior to the 1860 census. Her second marriage was to John W Hayes in Aug 1863 in Fayette County. They were the parents of eight children. Note: I have found only four children by Hays - the missing 1890 census probably would have revealed others.
