Veteran Mining Operator Dies
John Henry Howard, Sr., 93, of Boise, Route 9, retired mine operator who was for several years owner and operator of mines near Pine, Idaho, died Sunday morning at a Boise hospital. Born Dec. 19, 1855 at Martinsville, Ind., Mr. Howard had been a resident of Idaho for 51 years and of Boise for 10 years. He retired from active management of his mining properties five years ago.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anna Howard of Boise; four sons, Millard Howard, Berkley, Cal., Elbert Howard, Sumpter, Ore., Melvin Howard and John Howard, Jr., both of Boise; three daughters, Mrs. Edna Parmley, Glenns Ferry; Mrs. Ethel Schraft, Atlanta, and Mrs. Gale Freeman, Boise; 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The McBratney-Fowler chapel is in charge of arrangements.
