Mrs. Anna S. Howard, 87, of 232 North Atlantic Street, died at a Nampa nursing home, Friday morning. she was born July 4, 1876, at Kingsberry, Texas [wrong - she was born in Missouri before the family moved to Texaas].
Mrs. Howard grew up near Joplin, Mo., and married John H. Howard there in 1895. The couple came by wagon train to Fort Collins, Colo., in 1896, moving on to Idaho about 1900. They settled in Mountain Home and later in Meridian and Pine before coming to Boise in 1936. Mr. Howard died in 1949.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors are three sons, Melvin of Boise, Elbert E. of Smith River, Calif., and John H. Howard of Tacoma, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Edna R. Parmley of Glenns Ferry and Mrs. Gayle (Kay) Freeman of Boise; 29 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Two brothers and one sister died before her.
Services will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday at the McBratney-Alden Chapel with the Rev. Orvil Stiles officiating and interment at Morris Hill.
