Cemetery Inscriptions
From Cemetery near Gallup's Station, on Norwich & Weterly Electric R.R., North Stonington:
"1713. Here lies the body of William Billings who died in 85th year of his age"
The inscription on the stone of his wife is not legible, the foot stone marked M. B. (she died 1717/18)



Not this Mary!
FindAGrave has the following for Mary "Wales Atherton", said to have been married to William Billings. However William lived until 1713, and it would seems he was married to a very different Mary since this one married again and died before William Billings. There are also Billings children listed who are said to children of his wife Mary, after this supposed second marriage....
Mary married second to Joseph Weeks, 9 Apr 1667, Dorchester, Suffolk, MA. She is buried Dorchester North Burying Ground:
