Robert Doughty

(1817 - 1854)



Born about 1817 near Indianopolis (said to have been one of three sons, with father named Richard). Married Lydia Adams on 21 August 1836, Marion County, Indiana [marriage index]. According to a biographical sketch of their youngest son, Robert Milton Doughty, there were nine children in the family. (Seven have been accounted for.) The family moved about 1845 to a homestead near Springfield, Illinois, where they lived until the father's death.

Richard Edward Doughty (1840-1925), md. Mary Catherine Hiler, both buried in Cottonwood Cemetery, Boone County, Arkansas.

Martha Jane Doughty (abt 1844 - 26 Mar 1907; md. Elisha Earl)
Robert Milton Doughty (b. 1847, d. 1912, Holland, Pipestone, Minnesota), md. 10 December 1872, Rochester, Olmsted, Minnesota, Nettie C (Chloe Annette) Franklin [b. 1857, Ocola Township, Livingston, Michigan; d. 1950, Soldiers Home, Marshalltown, Marshall, Iowa; daughter of Kelly Shubel Franklin and Chloe Ann Mason]. Nettie was buried between Robert and her second husband John N Eckardt (buried 17 June 1941).
