PATRICK - Eldon Wayne Davis, 84, of Patrick, Arkansas, died Saturday, August 29, 2009, at Washington Regional Medical Center.He was born January 18, 1925 in the Temple Hill Community, the son of Jack Henry and Gertie Lee Evans Davis.He was a farmer and a long haul truck driver. He had also worked as a policeman with the Arkansas City, Kansas Police Department. He was a retired U. S. Army Sgt., having served during World War II in the Philippines and Japan.He was preceded in death by two sisters: Bonnie Miller and Gladys Cox and one brother, Clyde Davis.He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sue Pettit Davis, One daughter, Kimberly Dawn of Fayetteville, One brother, Weldon Davis of the Round Mountain Community, Four sisters: Jerryldene Payton of the Baldwin Community, Mary "Bunch" Dennis of Fayetteville, Flo Tabor of Wichita, Kansas, Carmel Elkins of Haysville, Kansas, One brother-in-law: Darrell Pettit of the home, Two sisters-in-law: Frankie Strong of the Hazel Valley Community, Louise Woods Gray of Excelsior Springs, MO, Three granddaughters: Asha, Dana and Alisha Forbes, all of Fayetteville, Four great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Dawn, Timothy and Ashlyn, Numerous loving nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, at Patrick Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.Visitation will be from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at Moore's Chapel.Memorials may be made to: Washington Regional Hospice 34 W.
