FAYETTEVILLE - Anna Mary Dennis, 86, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Washington Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 20, 1923 in Sunset, daughter of Jack Henry and Gertie L. Evans Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren L. Dennis on Jan. 19, 2007; a son, Louis L. Dennis in 1952; two brothers, Eldon Davis and Clyde Davis; and three sisters, Bonnie Miller, Gladys Cox and Jackie Davis.
She was a retired employee of the Baldwin Piano Company. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved making clothes for her daughters. She was a charter member of Sang Avenue Baptist Church. Bunch's legacy is left in her family. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She devoted her life to raising a family that was soundly grounded in faith, kindness and respect. She modeled a life of purity, hard work, quiet dignity and love for all. "Bunch" Dennis was respected by everyone who knew her. She will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharron Dennis and Bud of Brentwood, and Brenda Mills and her husband, Billy, of Fayetteville; a brother, Weldon Davis and his wife, Doris, of Round Mountain Community; three sisters, Jerryldene Payton and her husband, Gene, of Baldwin Community, and Carmel Elkins and Flo Tabor, both of Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren, Grayson Walker and his wife, Angie, Aaron Allen of Fayetteville, Kristi Hammons and her husband, Josh, of Brentwood, and Whitney Flora of Little Rock; four great-grandchildren, Kristen Walker, Arianna Allen, Sawyer Hammons and Alexis Allen; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at Moore's Chapel. Offciating will be the Rev. Paul Dennis. Burial will be in Nickell Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moore's Chapel.
