ROBERT L. PAINE, 90, of Fort Smith died Thursday, January 25, 1990 in a local hospital. He was the retired owner of the Town House Restaurant. He was a member of First united Methodist Church. He was past president of the Uplifters Sunday School class, a member of the Sebastian Masonic Lodge No. 706, the Western Arkansas Scottish Rite-KCCH, Amrita Grotto, A.A.R.P., R.S.V.P. and the Scimitar Shrine. He was also a member of the Bricklayers Union-BMPIU No. Six, in which he held the oldest bricklayers union card in Fort Smith. He was a past board member of the Bricklayers Union Stewards.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Roselawn Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Robert Dry of Dallas; his brother, Gerald of Fort Smith; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Ayers, Charles and Howard Watson, Charles Winesburg, Lee Hill, Les Coleman and Ralph Conaway. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Bricklayers Union and the Uplifters Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
