OBITUARY: Alonzo "Rabbit" Tillery, 69, of Huntsville, died Nov., 12, 1989, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born May 11, 1920, at Cass, Ark., the son of John R. and Hanna Jane Osborn Tillery. He was a construction worker, a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy and was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Empire, Oregon. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Iris Faye Shadrick Tillery of the home; four sons, Roy William Tillery of Aurora, Ill., Bobby Joe Collins of Fayetteville, Jerry Claude Tillery of Lowell, and Alonzo Gene Tillery of LaPorte, Tex.; four brothers, Lee Tillery, Clemmie Tillery and Cecil Tillery all of Ozark, Ark., and Andrew Tillery of Modesto, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 14 in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy Garrison officiating. Interment was in the Witter Cemetery under the direction of Brashears. Pallbearers were Roger Burnett, Vaughn Denzer, Carl Tillery, Clarence Harrelson, Charles Harrelson and Dewayne McClellan. Honorary pallbearers were Vance Bryant, Frank Burnett and Jim Tillery.
