Doc Luman Rites Monday at Wister
Funeral for James "Doc" Luman, 88, of Wister was at 2 pm Monday, Nov. 13, 1978, at wister First Baptist Church Burial was in Reichert Cemetery by Dowden Funeral Home.
He died Friday in a Fort Smith hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; three daughters, Odean Pilgrim of Kansas City, Kansas, Jewel Earls of Gladstone, MO, Lorene Jones of Sebastopot, CA; six sons, Haskell & Hershel of Poteau, Harril & Dale both of Wister, Theo of Kansas City, MO, and Cleo of Odessa, TX; two sisters, Lona Stacy of Heavener & Stella Donathan of Hartshorne; 39 grandchildre, 48 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was a member of Wister First Baptist Church and was a retired farmer.
Born May 5, 189 at Summerfield, Mr. Luman was a lifetime resident of the area.
