Jane (Jenny, Jincy) Housley Cox was born in 1816 probably in Grainger County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Joseph Owsley (Housley, Ousley) and Phoebe Longmire. She was married to Abraham (Abe) Cox.
Jane was buried at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Anderson County, Tennessee. Her grave was later moved to the Bakers Forge Memorial Cemetery in Campbell County, Tennessee, when the TVA built the Norris Dam.
