His parents are listed on FindAGrave, but he is not. He was living with them in 1880. Alice is listed as his spouse in his death record.

A Marcellus B. Stowell married in July of 1894 to Jennie Newton and resided in Chicago, but they may not have stayed together, see later. The Torrington, CT city directory of 1938 lists Jennie N. Stowell, widow of Marcellus B., died Dec 8, 1937, age 84 (this does figure to a birth year of 1853, but it must mean Jennie). The 1828 Directory for Torrington, lists Jennie N. Stowell as a widow of Marcellus B.

But I found a genealogy book on Ancestry, "A Supplement to the Descendants of Peter Spicer", p.61.
Jennie Bell Newton, married Geo. H. Davison, Jan 1874, he d. Sept 1889. Married July 1894, Marcellus B. Stowell and resided in Chicago. Daughter, Mary Davison, b. Feb 6, 1877, m. 11 Jun 1903 to Frank Simons, reside Winsted, CT.
