Dean Beck, 57, of Tower Hill died Friday, December 23, 2005 at 9:00 p.m. in his residence.
He was born December 28, 1947 at home in Shelby County, the son of Wilbur "Jack" & Wilda Cloe Beck. He had lived in Shelby County in the Tower Hill area his entire life. Dean worked with a traveling work gang for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad for over 20 years retiring in 1985 after he was injured in an accident at work. He loved animals of all kinds, liked people and drinking coffee.
Dean married Rebecca Hooper on June 7, 1969 in Cowden, IL. She survives in Tower Hill along with their children: Dawn Hardy & husband Matt, Michael Beck & wife Amy, Crystal Smart & husband Steve, and Jeremy Beck, all of Tower Hill, IL; 7 grandchildren: Courtney & Allison Beck, Mackenzie & McQuade Hardy, Nicholas, Sierra and Colton Smart; and by his mother: Wilda Wideman, Herrick, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father and by his sister Connie Scroggins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 28, 2005 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Tower Hill Cemetery, Tower Hill, IL
