Sarah J., age 25. [According to her date of birth, she would have been deceased, but would have been living in the household prior to July 1st and should have been counted. The children appear to be by an earlier wife.}

The estate papers of Sarah's father William H. Haden, filmed at the North Carolina archives reveal the following. In 1841, when Charles F. Rough, husband of her sister Rebecca petitioned the Court for a sale of the real estate of William Haden, Sarah Jane was listed as the wife of Alfred B. McCrary. By 1849, after Rebecca had died, Samuel H. Farabee and Jane, his wife, sold their right and title to any inheritance due as heirs at law of Rebecca Rough to William P. Moore.

Samuel H. Farabee was first married to a Margaret who is buried Jersey Baptist Church Cemetery, Lexington, Davidson Co - where Sarah Jane is also buried. Margaret's stone states she was "Wife of Rev. S. H. Farabee", died 26 Feb 1847. No birth date. This would suggest she was the mother of all of the children with Samuel in 1850. I found one database online that stated she was a Smith, daughter of James Smith, sheriff of Davidson Co.
Robert Newton Faratee, 27 Jul 1840, d. 11 Sep 1851, age 11 yrs 1mos 15 days, son of Rev. S. H. & Margaret Farabee.
