Thomas Asbill

(1832 - 31 Aug 1862)

In 1860, Thomas and John were living side by side in Crawford Co AR. However, they gave different ages. John said he was 28, Thomas said he was 27. Were they in fact, twins? The Asbill family information is that they were twins. Thomas and Celestia had living with them, Lucy Tipton, age 22, relationship unknown.

Thomas and his twin brother John were Union soldiers during the Civil War. Thomas died of the measles about three months after enlisting. He is buried in the national cemetery at Springfield, MO. John was severely wounded, but survived.
