District was Flint where he had lived all his life. Wants to enroll himself and two children. He has a wife. He is Cherokee by Blood, 3/4. His wife is a white woman. He has known Louis since he was a boy and Leona since he has lived with her as husband and wife. They live about 7-8 miles from him. Found on the roll of 1896: Lewis Catcher & Sarah Catcher, Flint Dist.
Louis & Sarah were enrolled as Cherokees by blood. Emma was too young and will have to have a certificate of her birth - form to given to him. His wife Leona is not enrolled and is not listed in 1896, but she was probably lawfully admitted as a citizen of the Cherokee Nation when she married - she will be placed on a doubtful card. Final approval will be sent to your post office address.

Testimony of John Muskrat taken at his home 8 miles south of Stillwell, OK, 17 Dec 1909
John Muskrat was 35, post office, Evansville, AR. He knew John Tickneskey - his father was Charlie; his mother Sallie. Both still living - post office, Evansville. John Tickneskey was not full blood - looked to be about half. Raised in the Flint District but lived awhile about Baron Fork in the Going Snake District. He was something over age 20 - he was sometimes called Johnson Catcher. He died at his father's about 6 miles from here. He was not there when he was buried - he thinks he died in the spring of 1901 - he went to enroll and died shortly after. Will be nine years next spring.
Testimony of Isaac Bearpaw taken same place and time
He was 36, post office Evansville. He is a citizen by blood of the Cherokee Nation and knew John Tickneskey also known as Johnson Catcher. Note: he was on the 1880 and 1896 rolls as John Catcher. His father was Charlie Catcher or Tickneskey. They called his mother he English name, Sallie. John is dead. He died at his father's. He did not see him dead - thinks he was buried near his father's where they have a graveyard. Died spring of 1901. I wasn't there but everybody told me it has been about nine years. He was something over 20. He was married. Wife may have been Sarah - she was a Catcher, too. Think she lives near Baron Fork.
Testimony of Samuel J. Starr at his store in Evansville, 17 Dec 1909
He was age 52, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation and knew John Ticknesky. His father was Charles Catcher. Tickneskey is his Cherokee name. His mother is Sallie Catcher. He thinks John died in June, 1901. H remembers it was May or June - think Charles Catcher told him - said he died too soon to file. He must have been about 23. Had a wife. Think she was a Whitmire, don't know her given name. John died at his father's. I knowed him ever since he was a boy. Died May or June eight years ago. I've been in the general merchandise business in Evansville for 23 years. John lived about 7-8 miles from here. I saw him often as a boy, every week or two. He traded at my store.
