Individual Details

Samuel's will was written in Granville County, NC, 29 April 1760. It was apparently recorded in the Feb Session of Court in 1792, established on oaths of John Williams, Esqr & Vinkler Jones. I suspect recorded for evidence in some sort of lawsuit. Samuel Morse, his son, had died before May of 1788 - Vinkler Jones was the recipient of all his lands (reason unknown - as this seems quite unusual).
The will names wife Elizabeth and sons, John, Samuel and Reuben.

Being sick and weak of body. Give all temporal & real Estate to beloved wife Elizabeth Morse during her natural life or widowhood and after her decease in legacies hereafter mentioned. To son John Morse, the Elder, 2 pounds, 3 shilling, 9 pence, Virginia money - likewise to him, 7 pounds, 16 shillings, and three pence now due to me, clear from any demands hereafter. To my son Samuel Morse, the plantation and land belonging, also all personal Estate goods and chattels after my wife's decease. Son Reben Morse, Executor.
