Jane "Jennie" Snow

Jennie lost her husband in 1842. He had been a Captain in the Tennessee Militia. He left her with debts which she ended up selling off much of her estate to settle. In 1852, she joined the Hill family on a trip beginning on the Tennessee River, to the Ohio River, to the Mississippi River, to the Red River, and finally the Red River to the frontier river port of Jefferson in East Texas. She was found in census with family members, the last in 1870 where she was living with her daughter, Mary Hill.

In 1860, Jane Pippin, age 60, b. NC, was listed as a Domestic in the household of W. D. Walker, age 20 and his wife Nancy, age 20 and their two young children. Jane was likely the grandmother.
