Civil War Service:
Served in Company A Second Texas Partisan Rangers for two years according to his wife's pension application. His service records show him to have been a 1st Sgt in Co. A, Chisum's Regt.

He was appointed postmaster of Miller Grove, Hopkins Co TX, 13 Jun 1873. He followed James Hill, who was married to his sister Sinah (error - his sister was Mary, his wife was Sinah)
