Name given on marriage bond as Milly SHACKELFORD. Named in various sources as Mary and Milly. Family members recall her as Amelia. It is possible her name was Mary Amelia, the name of her 2nd daughter. No documentation suggests her name was Mary. She was indentified by her nickname Milly in the bond for her marriage and was named Milly or Amelia in every grant deed or other document that was recorded, and as Amelia in her obituary.

1813, 18 Aug: John METCALF and Amelia his wife of Bourbon Co., KY deed to George GRANT of Mason Co., KY, for $400, 120 acres of land on Indian Creek in Mason Co., KY, beginning at George SHACKLEFORD to Mrs. Annie PARKER, being part of the farm owned and occupied by the late James SHACKLEFORD, and which descended by his death to his daughter Amelia METCALF, wife of said John METCALF.
