Testified for Sarah when she applied for her widow's pension in 1856, stating he was the son of John Q. Dabney and Sarah and was about age ten when his father died and knows they lived together as husband and wife. He was age 20 in 1850 and his father had died in 1833.... However in later years he did give his age as older.

He married Mildred Robinson, 9 Mar 1854, Davies Co KY.
