Individual Details

Sarah was the eldest daughter of Henry Fullwater, a German emigrant who had come to England about 1566 and worked out an apprenticeship as a cutler. Fulwater was a Protestant who arrived during the first great wave of Huguenot migration to England.

A London record of 1583 shows: Henricke Fullwater, cutler, borne in Germanye and his wife, are of the French churche. He hath a Scottish man, his servaunt, of The enlgishe churche. He hath two children, English borne. The parish registers of At. Anne, Blackfriars note the burial of Henry's first wife, Margaret, 25 Apr 1595. His second Mary is named in records in 1599 and 1602. He married a third time, to Anne, probably about 1603. His burial was 21 Sep 1603 accordig to the St. Anne parish register. The widow Anne, remarried on 11 Feb 1605, Robert De La Tour.
