Graveside Rites Held Here For Earl B. Roark
Earl B. Roark, 63, of Chicago, died Friday morning, Nov. 30, as he was driving his car and it struck a light pole at 200 W. 87th street. It is believed he suffered a heart attack causing him to lose control of the car. He had been a stationery engineer in The Chicago Tribune's building department for the last 17 years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Minnie Allen of Carrollton. An only child, a son Edward, died Feb. 24, 1955.
Funeral services were held in Chicago Sunday afternoon after which the body was brought to the Simpson funeral Home in Carrollton.
Graveside services were held Monday afternoon at Carrollton city cemetery, the Rev. Robert Pitsch officiating.
Pallbearers were Thomas Carmody, Francis Geers, John Clark, John Carter, William Brame and Philip A. Daum.
